AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM,
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 7 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM SO AS TO
PROVIDE AN INCREASE IN OCCUPATIONAL
LICENSE TAXES; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF
GULF STREAM, as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 7, Licenses and Business
Regulations, of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Gulf
Stream, Florida, is hereby amended at Section 7 -1, Subsection
(b), to read as follows:
"(b) Pursuant to the provisions of
subsection (a), the following
occupational license taxes are levied:
(1) Any general building
contractor including seawall
and groin contractors doing
business as outlined in
subsections (1) and (2)
above shall pay the annual
license tax of One Hundred
Fifty Dollars ($150.00).
(2) Any other business firm
or corporation engaging
in any lawful business,
profession or occupation
doing business as outlined
in subsections (1) and (2)
above, shall pay the annual
license tax of Fifty Dollars
($50.00)."
Section 2. If any provision of this Ordinance or the
application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall
not affect the other provisions or applications of this
Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provisions or applications and to this end the provisions
of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be codified and made
a part of the Official Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Gulf
Stream, Palm Beach County, Florida.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and approval, as provided by law.
