BOARD MEMBER'S ORALS IV ADJOURNMENT Next Meeting - March 27, 1996 CEI CITY OF LYNWOpU CITY CLERKS OFFICE FEB 22 TSyo AM PM 0 • MINUTES LAW ENFORCEMENT REVIEW BOARD Meeting of January 24, 1996 The meeting of the Law Enforcement Review Board was held on January 24, 1996 in the City Hall, Council Chambers. (7he agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.) The meeting was called to order at 6:09 p.m. by Chairperson David Willis. Pledge of allegiance was conducted by Commissioner Irene Garcia. ATTENDANCE Board Members in attendance were: Hilano Esparza, Irene Garcia, Henry Guidry and David Willis. Councilmembers present: Councilman Rea Staff members in attendance: Roger Haley and Tony Romero. Sheriff Liaison in attendance: Sgt. Robert Lopez ANNOUNCEMENT Elizabeth Dixon was nominated to become the new Chairperson for the Law Enforcement Review Board and Henry Guidry as Vice - Chairperson. PUBLIC ORALS Councilman Rea suggested that a Council member be assigned a Commission and also that the Board receive a copy of the sheriff's report to show what is occurring it, the community. Councilman Rea also encouraged the Board to attend the Community Academy to familtarize themselves with Sheriff services and responsibilities. BOARD MEMBER'S ORALS Commissioner Guidry complimented the Lynwood Unified School District for the work on the new Lynwood High School located on Imperial Highway. Commissioner Garcia reported an abandoned vehicle located inside 10868 Drury Lane to the Sheriffs Department however no action could be taken since the vehicle is on private property. 3 Law Enforcement Review Board Page 2 Commissioner Esparza commended the sheriff 's department for their response to an incident that had occurred with gang members on his block. Commissioner Willis also commended the sheriff's department for their response to an abandoned vehicle located in the alley by his house that was removed. ADJOURNMENT The meeting of the Law Enforcement Review Board was adjourned at 6:35 p.m. to the February 28, 1996 meeting.
