HomeMy Public PortalAboutGCAC minutes for July, 2017McCall Golf Advisory Meeting Minutes for July 12, 2017 Attendees: Eric McCormick, Roger Snodgrass, Paul Stover, Ken Stearns, Allan Morrison, Kristin Christensen, Rita Bolli-Neal Nate Coyle introduced BessieJo Wagner to the group. She will serve as interim City Manager until a permanent replacement is named. Ken made a motion to accept the June minutes. That motion was seconded by Kristin. The minutes were approved. Eric’s Report: We will be topdressing the greens before the Amateur. We will be moving sod from the nursery this week to the practice green. The hope is to have the practice green complete before the Amateur. The nursery will get new sod to replace what we have removed. Eric was able to purchase some pavers. The plan is to use some of them in front of the scoreboard. Any extra pavers might be used to help repair cart paths. Allan’s Report: The 2-Man Best Ball had 288 participants. There was some negative feedback concerning the Hawkins event. Some changes may need to take place in order for the event to continue. The Pro-Am was changed from August to July. It will probably stay in July. The McCall Amateur for men is full and there is a large waiting list. The field for the Junior Amateur will be 125-150. There are still some openings for the Ladies’ Amateur. Course revenue is still lagging through the month of June. Fewer season passes is one of the main reasons we are behind last year’s totals. This month’s topic of discussion was the Golf Course Five Year Plan. A copy of the current plan was given to each member. The hope is to move everything scheduled on that current list up one year. Roger asked the group to be thinking about future wants and goals for the course. Nate Coyle gave the group an update on Allan’s contract. The City Council talked about the contract during their last meeting. They did not approve it at that time. They have some concerns regarding the bonus provision. The council remains committed to a five-year contract. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 9, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.
