HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - GAC - 2016.02.17McCall Golf Advisory Meeting Minutes for Feb. 17, 2016 Attendees: Allan Morrison, Eric McCormick, Roger Snodgrass, Rita Bolli, Lynn Edwards‐Swanson, Paul Stover Lynn motioned that we accept the Jan. 2016 minutes. Rita seconded. The motion passed. Eric’s Report: The course again had a float in the Winter Carnival Parade. For the second year in a row we got second place. The snow bike races were again held at the golf course. In order for this event to continue, the organizers need to incorporate several changes before next year’s event. For instance, there was not enough help so parking was a real problem. Additional insulation was added to the pump house to save energy. Erin has done some notification on Face Book and the web about picking up dog poop. This seems to have helped. Eric would still like to get additional signage to help remind people. Eric is still working to replace the clubhouse windows with double panes. Hopefully, those will be replaced by May. Eric spent last weekend at the Boise Golf Show. Attendance was very good; he came away with about 1100 e‐mail addresses. Luke Crawford and Ben Reeder are experiencing good business in the restaurant. Allan reported that Amateur invitations would be going out soon. Roger reported that Ben and Luke are selling Life‐Time Pass Tickets in the restaurant. They will accept cash or checks. Flooring: Eric showed the committee a sample of carpet for replacing the existing carpet in the clubhouse. The carpet has a solid rubber back, and it seems to be the best option for replacing the current carpet. It comes in squares which can easily be taken up and replaced if the need arises. The color was acceptable to all. The bid was within budget, so work should begin shortly. Carpet in the pro‐shop is not being replaced at this time. Eric is still working on ways to possibly get the ladies’ bathroom floor redone. Marketing: Eric gave committee members samples of handouts that he uses at golf shows. He also showed us some backdrops featuring the McCall course that he uses when he goes to these shows. In addition, he pointed out that on the web sight there is a video flyover of the course. He also talked about other media promotions that are designed to help attract people to the area and the golf course. Roger passed out a copy of the annual report that he will be presenting to the McCall City Council. The next meeting is scheduled for March 9 at 4:00. Election of officers is on the agenda. Meeting was adjourned.
