HomeMy Public PortalAboutGCAC minutes for August 12McCall Golf Advisory Meeting Minutes for Aug. 12, 2015 Attendees: Roger Snodgrass, Eric McCormick, Allan Morrison, Rita Bolli, Paul Stover, Judy Elliot (sub for Betty Bolin), Ken Stearns (sub for Bill Logsdon) Gene Drabinski introduced Nate Coyle, the new city manager. Roger, Allan, and Eric thanked Gene for his support of the golf course. They expressed hope that Nate will follow Gene’s example. Minutes for the June meeting were approved. There was no formal meeting in July. However, it should be noted that the committee in July voted via e-mail to approve the selling of a half-time season pass. Allan’s Report: The Iron Man Tournament has been cancelled. The McCall Amateur was very successful. Forty-seven teams competed in the Pro-Am. The course was highly praised for its condition. Jazz-on-the-Green is scheduled for Sat., Aug 15. The Ladies’ Best Ball is full. The Club Championship is Aug. 22-23. The Chapman should have about 150 players. The Two-Man Scramble in Sept. is full. The restaurant is still having problems keeping cooks and wait staff. The revenue numbers for July were exceptionally good. Early Aug. revenue numbers were also up. Eric’s Report: The rebuilding of Aspen #1 is still scheduled to begin Oct. 1. He would like to rebuild the wall on Aspen #5 at the same time as the work is being done on #1 green. Tree removal has been set aside until later this season. Money from the Lifetime Pass Raffle will be used to repaint the clubhouse exterior. He hopes to paint this fall. Roger proposed changing the age limit for children on the course from 6 years of age to 5. Ken moved that we accept this change and the motion passed. Roger proposed that that the course eliminate the 90 degree rule since no one observes this rule. He proposed replacing it with a statement that reads “All carts must remain on cart paths whenever the superintendent deems it necessary”. Ken moved that the committee accept this change and the motion passed. Lifetime Pass Raffle tickets are currently on sale. Next scheduled meeting is Sept. 9. The five- year plan will be discussed.
