Bob Giles called the meeting to order. The minutes from the December 12, 2012 meeting were approved. Course Superintendent Report Eric McCormick submitted the 1-31-13 superintendent’s report (attached). Greens: We are continuing to deal with some ice problems on a few greens. We are experimenting with a new cover on one green. Current plans are to clear the greens in April; airify and overseed in spring. Promotion: Eric and Billy Romano attended the national convention for superintendents. The Seattle golf tradeshow was last weekend; the Spokane tradeshow is next weekend. The Idaho Statesman campaign includes 8 advertisements. A request will be made to the city to increase the marketing budget from $3,000 to $4,500. Golf Professional Report Allan Morrison reported the following: Tournament Fees: Tournament fees have been increased, as posted on website: Two-Man Best-ball $220 p/team + $40 p/team Two-Man Scramble $220 p/team + $40 p/team Men’s Amateur $200 + $40 Couples Chapman $170 p/team + $20 p/team Two-Lady Best-ball $160 p/team + $20 p/team Women’s Amateur $85 + $10 Senior Match Play $85 + $10 Sponsorship: Lakeview Financial, a Boise-based company, will sponsor the amateur tournament for $5,000; the amount to be used to increase prize funds and create crystal trophies for each flight winner. Maximum individual winnings are $750 in prizes per tournament. Restaurant: Will be closed in April for improvements. Old Business Local Option Tax (LOT): Eric reported that the best option would to obtain new utility carts, at a cost of $34,000. It was moved, seconded, and passed to recommend requesting this amount. New Business Conditional Use Permit: Eric reported that this permit applies to the entire property. Development of a long term construction and improvement plan for this permit application will ease this process in the future. Stack Rock on Creek Crossings: Eric can install stonework on most creek bridges that will dramatically improve appearance. He can obtain the material and labor by trading for two season passes. Patriot Golf Day: Eric reported he would like to pursue participation in this fundraiser. Allan reported that we did participate last Labor Day and would be open to doing it again. It was moved, seconded, and passed to recommend moving forward on these items. Board Membership: Eric reported that Ben Reeder has verbally resigned; Eric will notify the council of the need to fill the opening. Bob Giles offered to fill in as Chairman on an interim basis and will participate with Eric in the upcoming presentation to the council. The meeting was adjourned. Next meeting is scheduled Wednesday, March 13, at 5:00 PM.
