GCAC MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 12, 2014
Approved minutes for October GCAC meeting as written.
Bob Thackeray to step down as Chairman and member of GCAC for personal reasons. Names
for his replacement can be submitted to Eric.
Discussed items on the Men’s association notes. (see attachment)
Work on the three new ladies tee boxes will start next week.
Tree removal and replacement was discussed.
Progress on the cell tower project was discussed.
Along with the November discussion item on contract provisions, the annual patron survey
required by the City was discussed. The City has never done a satisfaction survey as required in
the contract.
The committee members and Gene decided that everyone is aware that the restaurant was not
being managed to its full capacity and that a survey should cover all the functions of the golf
course. Gene requested that the GCAC members submit survey questions covering the
restaurant operation, tournaments, pro-shop operation, pace of play, and overall satisfaction with
the golf course management to Eric prior to the December meeting.
Discussed Eric’s monthly report. (see attachment)
Discussed keeping cart paths open for the winter and the good will associated with everyone
being able to use the course during the off season.
Meeting adjourned.

CITY OF MCCALL
MONTHLY CONSOLIDATED DEPARTMENT REPORT
Department Project Comments Status
Golf Staffing The month of October there were three of us working
full time? By the end of the month we were still losing
seasonal employees and were down to 5 full time
seasonals.
Update
Golf Greens We finished aerifying Cedar greens the first week of
October. We also raised the height of cut on greens and
rolled more.
Update
Golf Tees We aerified Cedar tees the first week of October Update
Golf Irrigation We shut down and blew out the irrigation system the
22nd and 23rd of October
Update
Golf Fairways We quit mowing fairways the last couple weeks of
October to let the grass grow longer to possibly help
prevent ice damage. We also were given some sod
which we used to raise and patch low dead spots.
Update
Golf Equipment The equipment is holding up surprising well. Our
repairs for the year are also down. This is probable
from not having enough staff to run the equipment.
No Change
Golf Leaves We spent most of the month of October mulching
leaves with our rough mowers. We have found that it
works better to grind up the leaves and work them back
into the turf than to sweep them and haul them off.
New
Golf Equipment storage
building
We finished putting the siding on the equipment
storage building the last week of October
Update
Golf Maintenance yard
berm
We moved some taller evergreen trees to the berm,
designed and ordered the irrigation system which we
will install the first of November. We will also be
dormant seeding wild flowers when done installing the
irrigation.
New
Golf Club House to Close Allan plans to close the club house after the golf course
closes for the winter and will open again sometime
before we open in the spring.
New
Golf New Trees We transplanted 65 trees throughout the golf course
this month. They were removed from an area behind 6
Cedar green. They ranged from 2 to 3 foot tall.
