COMMITTEE ON STATE, FEDERAL AND REGIONAL GOVERNMENT
MEETING DATE: MARCH 20, 2019
REPORT: MARCH 26, 2019
The Committee convened at 6:30 P.M. on March 20, 2019 in the Council Chamber
Office.
Present were members Angeline B. Kounelis, Chair; Lisa J. Feltner, Vice -Chair; and
Anthony J. Donato, Secretary. Also present was Mr. Adam Brewster.
The purpose of the meeting was to interview Mr. Brewster for consideration of
appointment to the Watertown Board of Election Commissioners pursuant to a Request
for Confirmation made at the March 12, 2019 Town Council meeting.
Mr. Brewster was nominated by the Watertown Town Democratic Committee to fill the
vacancy that will occur upon the expiration of Ms. Bonnie Baranowski's term.
Mr. Brewster is originally from Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Boston University
with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Mr. Brewster has lived in
Watertown for approximately five (5) years. He is an associate member of the Town
Democratic Committee.
Mr. Brewster believes the work done by the Board of Election Commissioners is very
valuable and that it is important that said work be done correctly. He feels that his
current position at the MIT Lincoln Laboratory will be beneficial to the Board because
he helps government customers solve complex problems where stakeholders have
diverse interests.

recommend the full Town Council confirm Mr. Adam Brewster's appointment to the
Board of Election Commissioners with a term to expire on April 1, 2023. Voted 3-0.
