McCall Golf Course Advisory Committee
March 16, 2011 Minutes
Attendees: Allan Morrison, Eric McCormick, James Johnson, Robin Grove,
Tim Swanson, Ben Reeder.
Superintendant’s Report – Eric McCormick
We got a new rough mower from CA using the LOT tax money. The mower
was purchased as is at a lower cost and we are replacing any parts that need
fixed. The existing mower will be used as a backup.
Golf Shows – Boise and Spokane. Spokane had a great Saturday turnout.
Featured the stay and play promotion with Shore Lodge. SWITA paid for booth
and expenses. The McCall Golf Course special of pay for 18 and play 27 was well
received.
Web Cam – We have an active picture but there are some formatting issues
so this is still ongoing.
Greens – Show minimal ice and the ground is not frozen. We will know a
lot more about the greens here in a couple weeks. A tree came down on #1 and
will be taken out.
Opening Day – Memorial Day Weekend or sooner weather permitting.
Professional’s Report – Allan Morrison
McCall Amateur – As of 3/16 we already have over 100 entries into the
McCall Amateur. The format has been changed to an invitation tournament. A
handicap committee has been put together to ensure accuracy and fair play for
the tournament. The committee reserves the right to invite players back based
on sportsmanship, fair play, etc.
Jazz on the Green – The concert is scheduled for August 13th. Four bands
have been confirmed and tickets cost $20.
Closing ‐ The Pro Shop and restaurant will be closed for the majority of
April. There are two different parties scheduled in April so the facility will be
open April 1st ‐3rd and will re‐open the 6th of May.
New Business
A motion was made, seconded and approved to elect Ron Noble as
Chairman of the Advisory Council. Bob Giles was approved for Vice Chairman,
Ben Reeder as Sec/Treas. The meeting was adjourned at 6PM.
