HomeMy Public PortalAboutMGCAC Minutes 9-12-12 MCGAC Minutes of Meeting September 12, 2012 Members Attending: Robyn Grove, JJ Johnson, Bob Giles, Eric McCormick, and Allan Morrison. Bob Giles called the meeting to order. The minutes from the August meeting were approved as submitted. Course Superintendent Report: Eric McCormick submitted the August superintendent’s report (attached). Currently, crews have been drilling and airifying greens and fairways; tee boxes will be done in October. The trees on the end of the driving range are doing well; only 3 out of 140 did not grow. Golf Professional Report: Allan Morrison reported the following: Tournaments: The last scheduled tournament is the Two-Man Scramble, a full field event expecting 288-316 players. Revenue: Year- to-Date (YTD) revenue, effective August 31, is up $43,945 compared to last year at this time. The breakdown of gross revenue to the city by category is: Green Fees: $330,902 Season Pass: 137,988 Trail Fees: 22,119 Lockers: 990 Total YTD: $491,999 Passes Sold: Golf passes sold YTD are: Unlimited Play: 124 After 2:00: 119 Half Price: 15 Monday-Thursday: 16 Junior: 65 College: 5 Jazz on the Green: 167 tickets were sold for the event; only $155 was raised to benefit the charity. Allan has questions whether he would have this event again next year. Women’s Club Comments: Robyn Grove submitted comments from the Women’s Club members: Exterior- Mail box for scorecards needs fixing and the BBQ front area needs regular cleaning. There are questions on the flower box design. Interior- The bathrooms, particularly downstairs, need effective regular cleaning. Tournaments- More promotion is needed.. Advisory Committee Schedule: The November meeting and agenda will be moved forward to the October meeting. There will not be a meeting in November. This month’s agenda item (Updating the 5 year plan) was not discussed The meeting was adjourned. Next meeting is scheduled Wednesday, October 10, at 5:00 PM. Scheduled agenda items are reviewing the tournament schedule and previewing next year’s fees.
