MAY 14, 2008 MINUTES
ATTENDEES: Bob Giles, Allan Morrison, Eric McCormick, Suzanne Gebhards,
Tim Swanson, Roger Snodgrass, Lem Malone.
SUPERINTENDANT’S REPORT: Eric McCormick
Old signs to be replaced by Men’s association. Signs will be vertical and set in cement.
Next week (May 19-23) the Advisory Groups have a budget meeting with the city.
Legacy Park project fund is helping to pay for transplanting of trees from the park to the golf course.
A stump cutter on loan from Whitetail is being put to use. The course lost a few trees over the winter, specifically tree on right by Aspen #7, and by the practice green.
Tuesdays LOT request will include:
$16,000 for seasonal employees
$24,000 for Toro rough mower (used).
$5,000 to pipe ditch on left side of range.
$10,000 For a sand devil and mower deck
$55,000 Total request amount.
Stair reconstruction is in progress. It will be landscaped by Master Gardeners. Running a bit over budget. Extra will be paid by the Men’s Association. Construction done by Winston
Yeast Construction
Budget: Two year projection, approval of one year at a time. Don’t foresee an increase this year.
Labor crew is fully staffed.
Cedar Nine is in great shape except #6 green. Aspen 4, through 9 greens and practice green suffered severe winter kill but are already beginning to respond with regrowth.
WSU will be conducting snow mold research trials at McCall GC to find a product that both works well and is environmentally safe. Tests will be conducted on the practice green.
We are to have a fountain in the main irrigation pond. This will be used to help reduce moss. A diver will be dredging the sump and clean the screen. A new self cleaning screen will
be installed.

Opening May 29th on Birch and Cedar nines.
Two Man Best Ball is moved to June 21st & 22nd.
Sean from Babblefish will begin in concessions May 15th.
Proshop is fully staffed.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Marketing ideas – free golf, cart & range balls for two – any day, anytime the course is open, good for one full year from time of drawing. One drawing per month. All agreed this was
a good idea.
Suzanne brought up meeting with Lynn Edwards and Eric McCormick to discuss options for moving the forward tees on #8 Birch.

Eric will report on the budget meeting.
Rules and Regulations will be discussed.
