HomeMy Public PortalAboutGolf Committee Minutes, Golf August 2007 MINUTES OF THE MCCALL GOLF ADVISORY COMMITTEE AUGUST 8, 2007 The McCall Golf Advisory Committee (GAC) was convened at 5:33 PM August 8, 2007 at the Golf Club House Attendees: Bob Giles, Chairman; Hank McCauley, VP/Sec.; Roger Snodgrass; Pat Armstrong; Jim Staup; Eric McCormick; Allan Morrison. STAFF REPORTS: Allan Morrison, Head Professional reported: 1. The annual Amateur Tournament was a success. 92 youths, 70 women and 352 men participated. The Friday night party sponsored by Hearthstone was well attended and appreciated by the players. 2. Revenues for all golf operations areas are up over 2006. The total increase is over $13,700. 3. The restaurant is operating well. It has catered several special events and is providing breakfast and lunch for fire crews. 4. The annual Pro-Am tournament is scheduled for next Monday/Tuesday. A large field is expected. Eric McCormick, Superintendent reported: 1. Work is being done on the weak greens to prevent damage during the winter. Too much shade is a problem. 2. Bids are being sought to install a pipe from the driving range well to the pond system. This will conserve water and enable the driving range to improve the overgrown left side of the area. 3. Aerators for the three main ponds on A/B courses will cost about $5000 each plus the cost of electrical cable. The Mens Association is considering funding part of this project. The maintenance crew has lost seven summer hires that have returned to school. The crew will remain undermanned for the remainder of the season. COMMITTEE ITEMS: 1. The Committee discusses a new Five Year Plan draw up by Roger Snodgrass. Several projects were moved forward. The Plan will be revised and voted on next month. The meeting was adjourned at 6:35 PM.
