HomeMy Public PortalAboutGolf Advisory Minutes 7-12-06McCall Golf Advisory Meeting Mtg Notes – July 12, 2006 Roll call at 5:30pm Attendees: Allan Morrison Roger Snodgrass Dari Mckim Lem Malone Bob Giles Staff Reports: Allan: Staffing Update – Narrowed down the search for the “Super” position to two candidates. Conducted the interviews. Offer has been made to Eric McCormick. Usage Update - As of the end of June Season Pass Sales for the year-to-date are down $3K Daily Green fees are up for the year-to-date by $4K Course Updates: Next weekend we will be at tournament speed for the men’s amateur. Greens will speed up to 8.5-9 by this weekend. Golf course is looking really good this summer. Maintenance personnel are really working hard, and are paying attention to detail. Golf advisory committee would like to see some financial incentives for our new employees who are doing really well. Also support incentives for returning crew who are performing well like Mike Swafford and Paul Overton. Old Business: Lem Malone & Hank McCauley appointments reviewed by committee. Still awaiting approval by the City. Developing the 5-year action plan Subcommittee needs to work on this. Need volunteer from the GAC to head this up. Rodger volunteered. Items to address: Course Clubhouse Maintenance buildings New Pro Shop Recommended subcommittee members include: Max, Grant Kingsford and Ron Noble. Rodger would head the group from GAC. We need to re-write our mission statement and charter (by-laws) to allow for an alternate when formal members are unable to attend monthly meetings. Men’s Association Representative Women’s Association Representative Spring Mtn. Ranch Representative Rodger and Bob will draft some language to address this. New Business: Men’s Amateur – It is sold out. Ladies and Junior’s sign up is similar to last year. Other Items from the floor: Ladies Association thanked Men’s Association for re-painting the yardage markers. A reminder to finish the garbage storage area was voiced. Question about Golf Fund Raiser and what the funds raised will be directed towards. The goal is to raise $30k. One idea is to purchase a mosquito fogger to reduce the mosquito problem.
