The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Bell called the meeting to order at 5:08 p.m. Roll call was taken by Ms. Rosemary Valdovinos, Administrative Analyst. Commissioner Lewis was absent, all other Commissioners were present. Ms Gail Black was absent. Mr Roy Bufanda attended the meeting in her place PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Commissioner Litke APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of August 18, 1994 were amended as follows Chairperson Gilpen called the meeting to order at 5:07 p m Under Studies and Reports the motion was made by Commissioner Litke and seconded by Commissioner Gilpen to approve the eligibility list for the position of Director of Community Development. The motion was made by Commissioner Litke and seconded by Commissioner Gilpen to approve the amended minutes of August 18, 1994. All in Favor. Motion carried. STUDIES & REPORTS The motion was made by Commissioner Gilpen and seconded by Commissioner Litke to approve the eligibility list for the position of Civil Engineering Technician All in favor Motion carried ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Gilpen made the motion and Commissioner Gonzalez seconded to adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting, October 20, 1994 5.00 p m. All in favor. Black, Director of Human Resources b,r SUBJECT FIREFIGHTER TRAINEE ELIGIBILITY LIST OBJECTIVE To receive the Board's approval for the extension of the Firefighter Trainee eligibility list for six (6) months. FACTS 1) The Personnel Board certified the eligibility list for the position of Firefighter Trainee on October 21, 1993 The list is due to expire October 21, 1994. 2) The Fire Chief /Director of Public Safety, Gerald Wallace, has requested the list be extended for six (6) months in the event any vacancy occurs and the budget allows for filling said vacancy (see attached memo). 3) Personnel Rules and Regulations, Rule VIII, Emolovment Lists Section 2, provides for the extension, prior to expiration date of list, by action of the Personnel Board for additional six (6) month periods, but in no event shall an employment list remain in effect for more than two (2) years.
