ADJOURNMENT - TO NEXT REGULAR MEETING ON FEBRUARY 14, 1994 I • • COMMUNITY ACCESS ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 13, 1993 MEETING The regular meeting of the Community Access Advisory Board of the City of Lynwood was held December 13, 1993 in the City Hall Conference Room. (The Agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.) Chairperson Ann A. Fields called the meeting to order at 5.30 P.M. Board members in attendance were Ann A. Fields, Bill Lewis, Jr., and Ada McZeal. Board members Bill Cunningham and Ethel Pacheco had excused absences. Staff present were Johonna Jacobs - Howard and Aviva Seabrook. Also, Councilman Armando Rea was present. Board Member Lewis motioned to approve the minutes of the November 8, 1993, meeting with the following correction. Andrea Hooper titled as City Clerk, not a staff member, present at the meeting. Board Member Mc Zeal seconded the motion. I. SCHEDULED MATTERS A. CRITIQUE OF THE FIRST ANNUAL CABLE AWARDS RECEPTION Chairperson Fields thanked the staff for planning the reception, food, certificates, and efforts to have the City Council participate in the program. For future receptions, she suggested that the honorees are told where to stand once they receive their awards before the program. Also, involve the intern's parents with their child's attendance at the next reception. Additionally, have the honorees on the Lynwood Showcase program. Board member Lewis commended the staff on an excellent reception. He stated that the Board members interacting with the intern students and having their work featured at the reception helped and inspired the students. COMMUNITY ACCESS ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 13, 1993 MEETING Board member McZeal thanked the staff for their help with the reception. Also, she mentioned the large attendance of the community at the reception. Ms. Howard mentioned that all honorees were notified about the reception, although all of them were not in attendance. Also, some of the honorees' absence was the result of their parent's schedule. Ms. Howard commended Aviva Seabrook for making the necessary arrangements for the reception. B. ELECTION OF OFFICERS Due to the absence of two board members, it was unanimously agreed to postpone the election of officers until the next scheduled meeting. C. PREVIEW OF LYNWOOD SHOWCASE #53 The viewing of Lynwood Showcase #53 included City of Lynwood Staff Holiday Greetings and the following 1993 Year in Review highlights: 1. Soccer Players 2. Senior Aerobics 3 Easter Egg Hunt 4 St. Francis Nun Run 5 All -City Youth Track Meet 6. Annual Car Show 7 A Moment in Lynwood History 8. Lady Knights -Girls High School Basketball CIF Division Champions � 0 • COMMUNITY ACCESS ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 13, 1993 MEETING II. PUBLIC ORALS Chairperson Fields mentioned that staff can submit a written request for storage cabinets or shelves for the Lynwood Cable Studio. Ms. Howard stated that she will ask the City Clerk about the procedures to change the Board's meeting location from City Hall to the Lynwood Cable Studio at the request of the Community Access Advisory Board. Councilman Rea recommended that the Community Access Advisory Board be changed to a City Commission. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE COMMUNITY ACCESS ADVISORY BOARD MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 6:30 P.M.
