HomeMy Public PortalAbout083007 press releaseFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 4, 2007 McCall Seeks Library Board Member The City of McCall is seeking a concerned resident to fill a vacancy on the Library Advisory Board. The Library Advisory Board works with the McCall Public Library to provide patrons with diverse and organized information that satisfies their learning and recreational needs. Together with a well-trained staff, modern equipment, and a welcoming environment, the McCall Public Library promotes understanding of our culture, our world, and us. All interested and concerned citizens are encouraged to get involved in City government and help shape our community. The Library Advisory Board plays an important role, and your help is needed. McCall Seeks Transportation Advisory Committee Member The City of McCall is seeking three enthusiastic residents to fill vacancies on the Transportation Advisory Committee. The TAC advises and makes recommendations to the McCall City Council on transportation issues and reviews and maintains the City’s Transportation Master Plan. The scope includes, but is not limited to streets, highways, sidewalks, bike paths, and other matter pertaining to public transportation. The TAC also reviews and makes recommendations to the McCall Area Planning & Zoning Commission, regarding amendments to the Transportation element of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan regarding travel routes, development standards and proposed developments. The TAC also periodically reviews the Public Works Department standards and polices, the McCall City Code and the Idaho Transportation Department standards. McCall Seeks Historical Preservation Committee Member The City of McCall is seeking two residents to fill vacancies on the Historical Preservation Committee. The Historical Preservation Committee is responsible for conducting a survey of local historic properties and recommending methods necessary to preserve, maintain and restore historic properties. The Committee also conducts educational and interpretive programs and reviews nominations of properties to the National Register of Historic Places. If you live in the City of McCall and are interested in the growth and services provided by the Library Advisory Board, the Transportation Advisory Committee or the Historical Preservation Committee, please consider volunteering for a seat on one of these Committees.
