WASHINGTON, NOVEMBER 10 -13, 1994.

REGULAR MEETING OF THE WOMEN'S COMMISSION
CITY OF LYNWOOD
NOVEMBER 15, 1994
The regular meeting of the Women's Commission of the City of
Lynwood, California was held on Tuesday, November 15, 1994, at 3:00
p.m. in the Conference Room of the Lynwood City Hall, 11330 Bullis
Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as
prescribed by the Brown Act.
CALL TO ORDER
Mary Sue Lewis, Chair called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m.
Roll call was taken by Ms. Eugenia Zuno, Minute Clerk.
Commissioners in'attendance were Della Mazziotti, Ethel Pacheco,
and Verna Culp. Commissioner Dr. Betty Jackson was absent. Staff
in attendance was Carol De Jesus, Staff Liaison and Councilman
Heine.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
NONE
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The motion was made by Commissioner Mazziotti and seconded by
Commissioner Pacheco to approve the minutes of October 11, 1994.
All in favor. Motion Carried.
COMMISSION'S FUTURE GOALS & PROJECTS
Mary Sue Lewis stated that House of Uhuru is a branch of the Watts
Health Foundation which is located in the City of Lynwood and this
program benefits women and children that use drugs. She indicated
that this is a great program and that the Women's Commission should
get involved with this program.
Verna Culp informed the Commission of the Genesis Program. She
stated that a tour could be scheduled. Ms. Culp said that the tour
is very educational, interesting and helpful.
Mary Sue Lewis suggested on doing something special for the
children during X -mas time
Della Mazziotti indicated that there is enough needy children in
Lynwood to do this.
Chairperson Mary Sue Lewis asked the Commissioners to put all of
their ideas together and present them at the next meeting.
This item was tabled for further discussion at the next scheduled
meeting of December 13, 1994.

Ms. Carol De Jesus updated the commissioners on the Commissioner's
Dinner and the Christmas Parade.
