LYNWOOD WOMEN'S COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF
SEPTEMBER 13, 1994.
The regular meeting of the Women's Commission of the City of
Lynwood was held September 13, 1994 in the Conference Room at
City Hall. (The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the
Brown Act.)
Chairperson Mary Sue Lewis called the meeting to order at 3:15
p.m. Members in attendance were Verna Culp, Mary Sue Lewis,
Della Mazziotti, Dr. Betty Jackson, and Ethel Pacheco.
Also present was Friend of the Commission, Barbara Anthony and
staff members Carol De Jesus and Eugenia Zuno.
Minutes of the regular meeting of September 13, 1994 were read
by Ms. Zuno.
It was then moved by Della Mazziotti and seconded by Mary Sue
Lewis to accept the minutes of August 9, 1994 and July 12,
1994 as read.
FINAL PLANS ON COMMISSION WORKSHOP:
Mary Sue Lewis, chair, inquired if any of the
Commissioners have additional names of individuals that
need to be invited to the workshop.
After each Commissioner read Kathleen Brown's letter
addressed to Dr. Jackson and the Lynwood Women's
Commission regarding the conference, Ms. Lewis commented
that it was a nice gesture on Ms. Brown's part to send
the letter.
- Dr. Jackson stated that she has spoken to staff of
Kathleen Brown and they will send a representative to
the workshop.
LYNWOOD WOMEN'S COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF
SEPTEMBER 13, 1994.
- Dr. Jackson also outlined the workshop schedule which is
as follows:
a. Workshops will be divided into 3 sections.
b. Each workshop will last 1 hour and 15 minutes.
C. Each speaker will be given 15 minutes to speak.
d. Opening Ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the
workshop will open at 9:15 a.m.
e. Luncheon will be at 12:30 p.m.
f. Reception will be at 3:30 p.m.
Dr. Jackson asked Ms. De Jesus to invite staff from the
Lywnood Entrepreneur Development Academy to attend the
workshop.
- Ms. Lewis commented on a need for more publicity. She
will coordinate with Johonna Howard, Public Relation
Officer relative to this issue.
- Elisabeth Dixon will take charge of decorations. Dr.
Jackson suggested that Silvia Lara assist in the
decorations.
Dr. Jackson stated that the intent of this workshop is to
make this event a great one.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE LYNWOOD WOMEN'S
COMMISSION ADJOURNED AT 4.19 P.M.
