I. OLD BUSINESS
A. DISCUSSION ON CHILD CARE WORKSHOP
The commissioners present agreed to postpone the Child
Care Workshop scheduled for February, 1994 as a result
of Commissioners Mazziotti and Jackson's verbal
expression of resignation. The commissioners felt
that their current goal is to focus on recruitment of
new commissioners and friends.
Ms. Culp stated that she has requested many times
during the previous meetings to meet and discuss
childcare related issues with City Council. In
meeting with City Council, the Lynwood Women's
Commission would then be able to determine the degree
of Council's involvement and Support of the Women's
Commission.
Ms. Culp felt that it is necessary to meet with
Council before any discussions are made regarding the
Women's Commission projects. Ms. De Jesus made a
suggestion to invite one or two members of the Council
to discuss the Women's Commission goals and programs
at length. Commissioner Pacheco suggested that
Councilman Heine be invited while Commissioner Culp
requested for Councilman Henning's presence.
