CITY OF LYNWOOD
YOUTH COMMISSION
The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in regular session on
September 7, 1994 at 6:02 p m at the Lynwood Community /Transit
Center, located at 3798 Martin Luther King, Jr Boulevard, Lynwood.
Chairperson Jesus Trigo presided
ROLL CALL
Chairperson Jesus Trigo, Vice Chairperson Michelle Zavala,
Commissioners Ruth Acosta, Emily Gonzalez, David Hampton, Luis
Sandoval, and Maylene Hardin answered roll call.
Commissioners Andre Combs, Rasheed Gregory, Lizeth Gutierrez,
Cianni Williams, Jennifer McZeal, and Steven Moody did not answer
roll call
CERTIFICATION OF THE POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Jim Given, Project Manager, certified the posting of the agenda.
APPROVAL OF THE PAST MINUTES
It was moved by Commissioner Zavala and seconded by Commissioner
Gonzalez to approve the minutes of August 3, 1994
PROGRAM REPORTS
Recreation and Community Services
Mr Given reported on the September 16, 1994 program planned by the
Recreation and Community Services Department including the
dinner /show planned for September 14, 1994 and the Pancho Gonzales
Tennis Court Dedication and Tournament
Tenn Center /Youth Council
Feliciano Salazar and Alex Vela had nothing to report as Mr
Salazar was recovering from a hip operation making him temporarily
unable to conduct Youth Council business.
PRESENTATION TO DIANA ESCALANTE
A plaque was presented to Ms Escalante in gratitude for her
service to the Youth Commission as its clerk.
YOUTH COMMISSION CONFERENCE
Tentative participants were asked to volunteer to attend the Yuba
City Youth Commission Conference. Commissioners Zavala, Trigo,
Sandoval and Gonzales volunteered Note:The Lynwood Rotary was not

interested in sponsoring our Youth Commission's trip to the Yuba
City Youth Commission Conference, thus we were not able to attend
the September, 23 -25, 1994 conference.
FUNDRAISING DANCE
Commissioners Zavala, Gonzalez, Hardin, Hampton, and Sandoval
agreed to meet on this issue as a sub - committee on September
14,1994 at 5 p m in the Community Center.
NEW PROGRAM IDEAS
A talent show /fundraiser and a trip to the San Diego Zoo was also
to be discussed at the September 14, 1994 sub - committee meeting.
PUBLIC ORALS
There were no public orals.
STAFF ORALS
There were no staff orals.
COMMISSION ORALS
Commissioners Hardin and Hampton congratulated Ms. Escalante on her
new position.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Hardin and seconded by Commissioner
Hampton to adjourn to next regularly scheduled meeting of the Youth
Commission on Wednesday October 5, 1994. All in agreement. Meeting
adjourned at 6:50 p m
