McCall Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting
January 19, 2011
4 P.M.
The meeting was called to order at 4:10 P.M.
Welcome City Council liaison: Dr. Witte may not be able to join us because of her
work schedule.
In attendance: Ed Hershberger, Jacki Rubin, Nancy Butler, Anne Kantola, Lynn
Lewinkski, and Jamie Bell
The minutes were approved as read..
Director's Report: All is well at the library. It is so nice to review Anne's monthly
report. A nice review of all activities.
Budget and Stats: Good for the year with note of expenditure for new computer
program, Biblionix Apollo.
Staff: All fine. Anne is looking for a way to reward the hard work put into the big
makeover.
Friend's Report: Putting lots of energy into cleaning and clearing out all storage areas
for some really high quality books for the Winter Carnival book sale. The Festival of
Trees netted more than last year which is quite nice.
Friends Shelves: All old shelves are being used in other areas and has streamlined the
used book/Pump House process.
Old Business: Disposal of Records: Ongoing.
Curtains: Lovely. This is an absolutely wonderful improvement.
Thank yous: Still compiling the list for this. Lynn will follow up next week.
New Business — Shelving Funds: To finish the main collection will cost approximately
$27,000. We need to look into grants and funding for the completion of this project.
Discussed the possibility of "shelf elves" as well as grants, LOT funds, etc.
Dog policy: Along with food and drinks, no dogs except seeing-eye/service dogs are
allowed in the library, as stated in our policy manual. Motion made and seconded to
keep this policy as is for now. Motion approved.
Video & Computer policy: Will continue as before.
Building Plans: We are all very excited to meet with City Council and discuss our ideas
on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at 11 am at the Legion Hall. Enough of us will attend to
require a public notice.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 P.M.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16, 2011, at 4:00 P.M.
