ADJOURNMENT - TO NEXT REGULAR MEETING ON April 11, 1994 ,, +�ja 0 COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY l4, 1994 MEETING The regular meeting of the Community Cable Access Advisory Commission of the City of Lynwood was held February 14, 1994 at the Lynwood Cable Studio. (The Agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.) Vice - Chairperson Bill Cunningham called the meeting to order at 5.30 P.M. Commissioners in attendance were Bill Cunningham, Bill Lewis, Jr., Ada McZeal, and Ethel Pacheco. Commissioner Ann Fields had an excused absence. Councilman Armando Rea attended the meeting. Staff present were Johonna Jacobs - Howard, Ron Roberson and Aviva Seabrook. Commissioner Lewis motioned to approve the minutes of the January 10, 1994, meeting as stated. Commissioner Pacheco seconded the motion. I. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS A. COPY OF BOARD'S CHANGE TO A COMMISSION STAFF REPORT AND ORDINANCE The commissioners reviewed the staff report and ordinance. Everyone understood their responsibilities and roles as a commissioner B. STATUS OF CABLE PRODUCTION CLASSES The commissioners were delighted about the increased enrollment of the classes. Ron stated that the students are learning and having fun in the classes. One of the goals of the class is to establish a pool of volunteers to assist with video production. For the past three weeks, many students have volunteered their time to assist with the production of Lynwood Showcase. COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 14, 1994 MEETING C. ADULT CABLE PRODUCTION WORKSHOP SYLLABUS Commissioner Lewis stated that he has heard numerous positive comments about the class from various Lynwood residents. Ron stated that Commissioner Lewis may be a special guest speaker during the second week of the second phase of the class as agreed upon. He may devote the first hour lecturing on the topic, "Using Video to Tell a Story " Afterwards, the class will be separated in groups and he may teach the group interested in sound for the second hour Commissioner Mc Zeal agreed upon allowing special guest speakers during the second phase of the class. II. SCHEDULED MATTERS A. PREVIEW OF LYNWOOD SHOWCASE #55 The viewing of Lynwood Showcase #55 included the following program segments: 1 First Annual Tree of Life /Positive Motion Banquet Z. Teen Challenge's New Thrift Shop 3 Dancing Grandma's Visit Lynwood Seniors 4 Earthquake Damage in Lynwood 5 Lynwood Entrepreneurial Development Academy Business Expo 6. Lion's Club Eyeglasses Collection Day 7 Community Access Advisory Board's Reception Suggestions for Lynwood Showcase topics included the Helen Grace candy factory and short clips of students working in the studio. 0 COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 14, 1994 MEETING III. COMMISSIONERS' REPORT Commissioner Mc Zeal suggested that once the students are trained, pay them for working as an incentive. Also, she asked about Lynwood Information, Inc. having the authorization to generate revenue by providing video production services. Ms. Howard stated that the City Council has approved a resolution that allows Lynwood Information, Inc. to generate revenue by providing video production services and an established fee schedule. Also, Lynwood Information, Inc. has already generated revenue. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 7:05 P.M.
