McCall Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting
Wed. June 4, 2014
Conference Room, 4:00 PM
Call to order: 4 pm
Attendance: Ed Hershberger, Lola Elliot, Anne Kantola, Lynn Lewinski and Gene Drabinski.
Minutes: Approved as presented.
Director's Report:
Budget and Stats: The Board reviewed and discussed the budget oversight, shorting our staff
monies by 10K. Further discussion to be continued to find our solution to this situation.
Staff: The staff is shifting and sorting schedules to cover all the programs and vacations. They
are doing a great job of keeping services and patrons moving on smoothly.
The Board was sad to lose our newest member, Anna Torti. She is leaving the area for
employment with BSU. The opening will be posted and another search begun.
Friend's Report: The Friends were so very generous, yet again, with special funding! This time it is for
lights and movie license.
Old Business:
Meeting with ICfL: This meeting is set for June 27th 9am -12 noon. The City Clerk and Council
have been invited to join us.
Challenged Materials Policy: Anne has finished the final draft and will e-mail us those
documents for review and editing.
Discarded Book Policy: Same as above.
Retirement heads-up: Gene Drabinski and The Board went over Anne's job description and his
suggested procedure for hiring a replacement. The Board voted and approved the support from City
Council, Gene and H.R. in finding a new Library Director for The McCall Public Library. We really
appreciate the support!
New Business:
Phyd's Report: Reviewed last meeting.
Future Goals: Build! We imagine that this summer's programs success will show more reason
to expand our facility.
Loose ends: The Board would like to thank the City for continued support.
Adjournment: 5 pm
Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2014 from 9:00 to 12:00 for ICfL training.
A very brief meeting ofthe Board to review the Librarian position will follow this training.
Next Board Meeting: Thursday, August 7 at 9am.
