LAW ENFORCEMENT REVIEW BOARD
Meeting of June 28, 1995
The regular meeting of the Law Enforcement Review Board was held on June 28, 1995, in the
City Hall Council Chambers. (The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.)
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Chairperson David Willis.
Pledge of allegiance was conducted by Commissioner Henry Guide.
ATTENDANCE
Board Members in attendance were: Henry Guidry, Hilarto Esparza, David
Willis.
Couneilmembers present: None
Staff members in attendance: Roger Haley.
MINUTES
the minutes of the May 24, 1995 regular meeting were read and approved as distributed.
PUBLIC ORALS

BOARD MEMBER'S ORALS
Mr Guidry informed his neighbor that works at St. Francis Medical Center to attend the
Law Enforcement Review Board to inform the Board that there is a problem with gang
members intimidating workers in the hospital but she did not attend the meeting.
Mr Willis received numerous complaint from neighbors about laud music and cars
speeding and double parking on Carlin Ave. between Atlantic and Bullis Rd. Mr Willis
asked his neighbors if they had contacted the Sheriffs Department to register a
complaint which the neighbors did but no patrols arrived.

Mr Haley it formed Mr Willis that he will contact Parking Control and have them patrol
the area
Sgt. Lopez explained to the Board that there was an incident that occurred that weekend
on California five. and Los Flores Blvd that involved a young man that was slain and
that this was a priority for the Sheriff's Department. Sgt. Lopez also explained that when
residents call the Sheriff's Department that they put in the complaint with the Watch
Sergeant. If no unit response them ask to speak to the Watch Commander.
Mr Haley informed Mr. Willis on Mr Brantley's position being announced as vacant at
the next City Council Meeting.
Mr Guidry thanked Sgt. Lopez for the application that was given to the. Board.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6.35 p. m. to the July 26, 1995 regular
meeting.
