ADJOURNMENT - TO NEXT REGULAR MEETING ON AUGUST 14 Ll 0 COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE JUNE 12,1995 MEETING The regular meeting of the Community Cable Access Advisory Commission of the City of Lynwood was held June 12, 1995, at the Lynwood Cable Studio. (The Agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.) Chairperson Bill Lewis Jr called the meeting to order at 5.30 P.M. Commissioners in attendance were Bill Cunningham, A. Ann Fields, Bill Lewis Jr., and Ethel Pacheco. Commissioner Ada McZeal was absent. Staff present were Johonna Jacobs - Howard and Serena Coulson. Commissioner Cunningham motioned to approve the minutes of the May 8, 1995, meeting as stated. Commissioner Pacheco seconded the motion. I. SCHEDULED MATTERS A. Video Production Course Session #8 for Commissioners The Video Production Course was not presented to the Commissioners due to the illness of the instructor Staff person Roberson. B. Preview of Lynwood Showcase #70 Commissioner Lewis stated to Staff person Howard that there is no viewing of Lynwood Showcase #70 on the agenda. Staff person Howard stated that she did not put the viewing of the Lynwood Showcase #70 on the agenda because of the video computer problems we are having. She also stated that the system is down and that it has to be restored. She stated that Staff person Roberson has to learn the technical side of the computer, that is the programming side of-it. Staff person Howard also stated that Staff person Roberson has been working with Continental Cablevision to learn more about the system because they have the same type of equipment. She stated that Continental Cablevision upgraded their software for their video toaster; Staff person Roberson asked if he could upgrade also, but by upgrading the software on the video toaster he did not know that there was not enough memory capacity, she stated that is why the system is going down so much. Commissioner Fields asked, Staff person Howard if Staff person Roberson could take a course in the area he needs to increase his knowledge of the computer system. Commissioner Lewis asked if the course would cost. 0 0 COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE JUNE 12,1995 MEETING Staff person Howard stated that she is sure a training course will cost; she also stated that she had suggested to Staff person Roberson about on -going training at Continental Cablevision. Commissioner Lewis asked Staff person Howard if the video toaster is used primarily for editing. Staff person Howard stated that it is for editing and graphics. Commissioner Lewis stated that he agrees that Staff person Roberson should keep up to date with the changing process in the video production field. He also stated that it would benefit us because it would shorten any delays that might occur in the future in video development. Commissioner Lewis stated that with the on going problems of the video equipment does this mean that we will use our stand -by Showcase this month in our viewing? Staff person Howard stated we can, but as you know the previous showcase is a couple of weeks late in terms of airing that is still being aired. Commissioner Cunningham stated that the Lynwood Showcase that is airing now is a very good program. Commission Fields stated before we go to the next matter, is it possible that we could found a video course that would give Staff person Roberson some type of on -going training. Staff person Howard stated that we can look into providing some type of course. Commissioner Lewis asked Staff person Howard, if Lynwood Showcase #68 will still be airing. Staff person Howard stated, our plan is to prepare a Lynwood Showcase for this month; but we need to download the computer to free up some of the memory on the hard drive. C. LII Budget Information Commissioner Lewis asked the Commissioners if they had any questions regarding the LII Budget Information packet. Commissioner Cunningham stated that he had no questions, but the information was put together in a nice form. Commissioner Lewis asked Staff person Howard if the LII Budget Information packet had already been submitted to the City Manager Staff person Howard stated it has, she also stated that the packet was sent to the Commissioners to bring them up to date on the contents of the LII Budget. • Ll COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE JUNE 12,1995 MEETING IL COMMISSIONERS7STAFF REPORT Staff person Howard stated that she went ahead and submitted the LII Budget Information to the City Manager, indicating that time was of the essence. Staff person Howard stated I said that I would put together a packet and submit it to the you. She explained to the Commissioners that the matter was urgent and that is why she moved ahead with it. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 6:00 P.M.
