ADJOURNMENT - TO NEXT REGULAR MEETING ON Feburary 13, 1995 COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 12 1994 MEETING The regular meeting of the Community Cable Access Advisory Commission of the City of Lynwood was held December 12, 1994 at the Lynwood Cable Studio. (The Agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.) Chairperson A. Ann Fields called the meeting to order at 5.30 P.M. Commissioners in attendance were Bill Cunningham, A. Ann Fields, Ada McZeal, Bill Lewis Jr., and Ethel Pacheco. Staff present were Johonna Jacobs - Howard, Ron Roberson and Serena Coulson. Others present were Councilman Louis Heine and a Sheriff Deputy of Los Angeles County Commissioner Cunningham motioned to approve the minutes of the October 10, 1994, meeting as stated. Commissioner Pacheco seconded the motion. I. SCHEDULED MATTERS A. Election of CCAAC Officers Commissioner Pacheco nominated Commissioner Lewis as the Chairperson. Commissioner Lewis nominated Commissioner Fields, Commissioner Fields declined. The nomination for Commissioner Lewis as Chairperson was seconded by Commissioner Cunningham. By an unanimous vote, Commissioner Lewis became the Chairperson of the Community Cable Access Advisory Commission. Commissioner Cunningham nominated Commissioner Pacheco as Vice - Chairperson. Commissioner Lewis seconded the nomination. There were no other nominations. By an unanimous vote, Commissioner Pacheco became the Vice - Chairperson of the Community Cable Access Advisory Commission. COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 12, 1994 MEETING B. Critique of Cable Awards Program Commissioner Fields commended the staff for a job well done on the cable awards program, and for all the hard work that went into making the cable awards program a success. Commissioner Lewis commended the staff for an excellent program. He stated that the cable awards program was presented in a professional manner Commissioner McZeal thanked the staff for a wonderful job in preparing the cable awards program. Commissioner Cunningham thanked the staff for all their hard work, and for putting such a wonderful program together He stated it was a beautiful event. Commissioner Pacheco stated that she was pleased with the cable .awards program. Staff person Howard thanked the Commissioners for their support, and for their wonderful gifts that were presented to the staff at the awards program. C. Winter /Spring Adult-Cable Production Staff Person Howard stated that the Adult Cable Production Workshop will start on Monday, January 23, 1995, at 6 p.m. She explained the class to the Commissioners in full detail. She also stated on every second Monday the class will start at 7 p.m. Commissioner Fields asked if there is a waiting list. Staff person Howard stated we've started recruiting by phone, she also stated we placed an announcement in the January newsletter, Lynwood N Perspective announcing the Adult Cable Production Workshop. Staff person Howard stated that we will start preparation for the children's workshop, and it will be presented at the January meeting. She also stated that the children's workshop will began in February COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 12, 1994 MEETING Commissioner Cunningham asked staff person Howard about the ROP workshop. Staff person Howard stated in regard to the ROP workshop we have a problem. She stated maybe the Commissioners can help. She also stated that there is no heat in the cable office, -and that it has been about a year since staff made a request to the City Manager's Office. Commissioner Fields stated to staff person Howard to put the request in writing. Staff person Howard stated that the ROP workshop was discontinued because of the heating problem, D. Preview and Schedule Alternative for Lynwood Showcase Commissioner Lewis stated, his recommendation it to have a back- up Lynwood Showcase incase of an emergency He also stated that it is the responsibility of the Commissioners to view Lynwood Showcase and to have it ready if there is an emergency Staff person Howard asked the Commissioners, if there is a need for a back -up Lynwood Showcase each month. Commissioner Lewis answered, no. Commissioner Cunningham suggested to have a back -up Lynwood Showcase of events that has taking place in the city of Lynwood. Staff person Roberson suggested to consider an extended version of a very interesting program, such as the cable awards program in a Lynwood Showcase as a 30 minute program. Commissioner Fields agreed with staff person Roberson's suggestion. Staff person Howard suggested to have a Lynwood Showcase on the CIP projects. Commissioner Lewis stated, have at least one showcase to air, if needed' Commissioner Fields called for a motion. Motioned by Commissioner Lewis, and seconded by Commissioner Cunningham, all Commissioners agreed. Staff person Roberson asked Commissioners for two months to prepare the back -up Lynwood Showcase, all Commissioners agreed. COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 12, 1994 MEETING ` E. Video Production Course for Commissioners #3 Staff person Roberson named and explained the different functions of each microphone that is used in the video production field to the Commissioners. F. Preview of Lynwood Showcase #64 The viewing of Lynwood Showcase #64 included the following - program segments: "1994 The Year in Review" 1. Rosa Parks Day 2. L.A. Mock Trials , 3. Circus Vargas 4 Easter Program 5 Cable Workshop 6 Senior Programs ' 7 Nun Run 8. National Guard Armory 9 Sheriffs Bicycle Team 10. 4th of July Unity Fest II. PUBLIC ORALS Commissioner Lewis announced his 25th year at KNBC to the Commissioners and staff Mayor Pro -Tern Louis Heine stated he was very pleased with the Lynwood Showcase. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE COMMUNITY CABLE ACCESS ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 6:55 P.M.
