Local Option Tax Commission
Meeting Minutes
May 16, 2006
Call to Order
The Local Option Tax Commission meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m. Those present were Amanda Kirkpatrick, Andrea Butler, Pat Eames, Roger Snodgrass, and Steve Gleason. Chairman
Gleason declared a quorum present. Lance Daniels and Tom Stilinovich were absent.
City Clerk Joanne York was present.
Tom Stilinovich joined the meeting in progress.
Approval of Minutes
Roger Snodgrass moved to accept the Minutes of May 9, 2006. Pat Eames seconded, and the motion carried.
Requests for Funding
The funding request for the 2008 Masters World Cup was presented by Steve Jones, for a total of $15,000. There was discussion concerning the specific expenses the monies would be applied
to.
Commission members discussed providing a larger McCall logo for Steve Jones to put in his brochures.
A representative from Waaf told the commission that they were looking into being a satellite of the Boise YMCA. They also indicated that any LOT monies received would go for aquatic
programs.
Representatives of Treasure Valley Transit for present and available for any questions from the commission.
Recommendations and Prioritization of FY 06-07 Revenue
12 – Treasure Valley Transit. The commission decided to set a specific amount to be funded each year since this was an on-going expense.
17 – Jughandle Musical Theatre. The commission would like to see a more definitive contract.
There was an extensive discussion concerning funding for paving at the airport. It was determined that any unanticipated funds for FY07 would go for the airport parking lot paving.
Should the airport choose to not accept the LOT money, the allocation would then go to Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Commission made the following recommended allocations for FY 06-07, subject to City Council approval:
