NEW BUSINESS Discussion on Commemorating Women's Month REGULAR MEETING OF THE WOMEN'S COMMISSION CITY OF LYNWOOD DECEMBER 13, 1994 The regular meeting of the Women's Commission of the City of Lynwood, California was held on December 13, 1994, at 3:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Lynwood City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER Mary Sue Lewis, Chair called the meeting to order at 3:09 p m. Roll was taken by Ms. Eugenia Zuno, Minute Clerk. Commissioners in attendance were Dr. Betty Jackson, Della Mazziotti and Ethel Pacheco. Commissioner Verna Culp was absent. Friend of the Commission Barbara Anthony and Councilman Heine were also present. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE NONE APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion was made by Commissioner Mazziotti and seconded by Commissioner Pacheco to approve the minutes of November 15, 1994. REPORT OF NACW AND ARRP COMMUNITY RESOURCES CONFERENCE IN WAC=TAT(1TnN ATn1TVVRF.R in-11- 1 994 _ ( attended by Commissioner Dr. Dr. Betty Jackson said it was an honor to have represented the Commissioners at the NACW and ARRP Community Resource Conference in Washington. Dr. Jackson stated that it was one of the busiest conference and workshop she had ever seen. Dr. Betty Jackson shared information she brought back with the Commissioners. Among the information was: - Conference Agenda - Board of Directors Budget - Article on the Mediterranean European Women - Resolutions to be submitted to the NACW - A book about Prince Albert given to her by Treva Wilson Lynwood's Women's Commission December 13, 1994 page 2 of 2 Dr. Jackson stated that Camille Murphy couldn't stop talking about the red carpet treatment offered by the City of Lynwood Women's Commission. Dr. Jackson said Ms. Camille enjoyed receiving the key to the City of Lynwood by the City Council. COMMISSION'S FUTURE GOALS & OBJECTIVES Della Mazziotti indicated that the Commission should look into starting a program for single mothers. The Commission discussed programs. This item was tabled for further discussion at the next scheduled meeting. STAFF ORALS Chair Mary Sue Lewis commended Paul Richards, II for doing a great job as Mayor for the City of Lynwood. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE LYNWOOD WOMEN'S COMMISSION ADJOURNED AT 4:00 P.M.
