Commission Minutes
For July 5, 1995
The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in regular session July 5,
1995 at 6:14 p.m. at the Lynwood Community Transit Center, located
at 3798 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Lynwood.
Vice - Chairperson Zavala presided.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Zavala, Acosta, Hampton, McZeal, Gregory Combs, and
Sandoval answered roll call.
Commissioners Trigo, Gutierrez, Williams, Hardin, and Moody did not
answer roll call
CERTIFICATION OF THE POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Mark Flores certified the posting of the agenda.
APPROVAL OF THE PAST MINUTES
Approval of Minutes of the May 4 and June 7 meetings were motioned
to be approved by Commissioner Acosta and seconded by Commissioner
Gregory all passed unanimously.
PROGRAM REPORTS
Recreation and Community Services
Mr Flores reported on the Juneteenth, Unity Festival and Metro
Green Line events.
Youth Council /Teen Center
It was reported that the Teen Center has moved to extended summer
hours of 3 p.m. to 8 p.m on weekdays The Teen Center also had a
trp to Dodger Stadium on June 26, 1995
ELECTION OF N EW OFFICERS
Election of Chairman: Commissioner Gregory nominated Commissioner
Zavala for Chair. Their were no other nominations Vote was
unanimous.
Election of Vice - Chairman: Commissioner Gregory noinated
Commissioner Sandoval, no further nominations. All in favor.
GENERAL REPORTS
Mark Florees reported that a Youth Commission attendance report was
submitted to the City Clerk and appropriate actions would be taken.
•
Also, a plaque of recognition was presented to the Hosler Jr HS
Valedictorian by Mr. Flores, on behalf of the Youth Commission.
NEW PROGRAM IDEAS
Staff was to investigate into the possibility of having a fund
raising Bike- A -Thon in the Summer.

There were no Commissioner orals
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Acosta moved that the meeting be adjourned to the next
regularly scheduled Youth Commission Meeting and seconded by
Commissioner Gregory. All in favor. Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m
