CITY OF LYNWOOD
YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES
The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in regular session on
April 5, 1995 at 6:01 p.m at the Lynwood Community Transit Center,
located at 3798 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Lynwood
Chairperson Jesus Trigo presided.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Trigo, Zavala, Acosta, Gutierrez, Hampton, McZeal,
Gregory and Sandoval answered roll call.
Commissioners Combs, Gonzalez, Williams, Hardin, and Moody did not
answer roll call.
CERTIFICATION OF THE POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Mark Flores certified the posting of the agenda.
APPROVAL OF THE PAST MINUTES
Approval of Minutes of the March 1, and February 1 meetings were
postponed to May 3, 1995
PROGRAM REPORTS
Recreation and Community Services
Mr. Flores reported on the recent grant awarded to the Department
as well as Cinco de Mayo festivities planned by the department.
Youth Council /Teen Center
There' was no Youth Council representative at the meeting.
GENERAL REPORTS
Commissioners were informed as to the process for recieving
Commissioner business cards. Those without cards will have a set by
the next meeting.
NEW PROGRAM IDEAS
Commissioners were instructed to bring back ideas on a possible
charity bike ride for the summer
Commissioner Sandoval was to research into the possibility of
having a Youth Commission update in the Youth On Youth publication
Public Orals
There were no public orals
STAFF ORALS
There were no staff orals.
COMMISSION ORALS
- Commissioner Hampton apologized for not comiing to the last
meeting.
- Commissioner Acosta asked for Commissioners to pay more interest
during meetings.
- Commissioner Sandoval suggested that there be increase in
Commissioner attendance
- Commissioner Gregory announced that he was a candidate for the
Chamber of Commerce Scholarship competition.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Gregory moved that the meeting be adjourned to the
next regularly scheduled Youth Commission Meeting and seconded by
Commissioner Acosta. All in favor. Meeting adjourned at 7 00 p m.
