A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 150
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND CODE
WHEREAS, Chapter 150 of the City of Richmond Code is entitled Building Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 150.03 of the City of Richmond Code adopts and incorporates by
reference certain State of Indiana rules, codes, and standards of the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission as building rules for the City of Richmond, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, such Chapter needs to be substantively revised so as to comply with State of Indiana Law; and
WHEREAS, such revisions will provide the City of Richmond, Indiana, with a Building Code that not only complies with State of Indiana Law but better ensures proper construction,
alteration, use, occupancy, maintenance, demolition,
moving and additions to all buildings and structures, other than fences, in the City of Richmond, Indiana.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following Section 150.03 of the City of Richmond Code shall be amended to read as follows
except that portions that appear in bold shall appear in normal print and portions that are stricken shall not appear (bold portions represent new additions to the City of Richmond
Code and stricken portions represent deletions; both of which are included to facilitate understanding of the changes being made):
SECTION 150.03 ADOPTION OF RULES BY REFERENCE
(a) Building rules of the Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission as set out in the following articles of Title 675 of the Indiana Administrative Code are hereby incorporated
Articles as the same are published in the Indiana Register or the Indiana Administrative Code with effective dates as fixed therein:
(1) Article 13 - Building Codes
(A) Fire and Building Safety Standard
(B) Indiana Building Code
(C) Indiana Building Code Standards
(D) Indiana Handicapped Accessibility Code
(2) Article 14 - One and Two Family Dwelling Codes
(A) Council of American Building Officials One and Two Family Dwelling Code
(B) CABO One and Two Family Dwelling Code; Amendments
(C) Standard for Permanent Installation of Manufactured Homes
(3) Article 16 - Plumbing Code
Indiana Plumbing Code
(4) Article 17 - Electrical Codes
(A) Indiana Electrical Code
(B) Safety Code for Health Care Facilities
(5) Article 18 - Mechanical Code
Indiana Mechanical Code
(6) Article 19 - Energy Conservation Code
Indiana Energy Conservation Code
(7) Article 20 - Swimming Pool Code
Indiana Swimming Pool Code
(a) Pursuant to IC 22-13-2-3-(b), the rules of the Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission as set out in the following Articles of Title 675 of the Indiana Administrative
Code are hereby incorporated by reference in this code and shall include any later amendments to those rules.
