A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO DISCUSS THE .
PRELIMINARY DRAFT OF THE CITY'S SOURCE
REDUCTION AND RECYCLING ELEMENT (SRRE) AND
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHWE).
WHEREAS, AB 939, the Integrated Waste Management
Act of 1989, mandates for cities to achieve a 25% reduction of
the solid waste disposed by 1995 and a 50% reduction by the year
2000; and
WHEREAS, the Act requires for each city to
prepare, adopt, and submit to their respective county an SRRE and
HHWE which includes a waste characterization study; and
WHEREAS, as required by Title 14, Chapter 9,
Article 3, Section 18766 of California Code of Regulations, at
least one public hearing shall be held to receive testimcny
regarding the Preliminary Draft of the SRR and the HHW Elements;
and
WHEREAS, as required by the same section, the
jurisdiction is required to publish a notice in a local newspaper
of general circulation at least 30 days in advance of the
scheduled public hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council in accordance
with AB 939 regulations, declares its intention to conduct a
public hearing pursuant to Title 14, Chapter 9, Article 3,
Section 18766 of California Code of Regulations to receive
testimony regarding the SRRE and HHWE preliminary drafts, and
SECTION 2: That the City Council hereby fixes the
hours of 7:30 p.m., November 19, 1991,,as the time and the City
Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road, as the place for said public
hearing; and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to serve
and post certified copies of the resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of
October , 1991
