A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING THE RENAMING OF THAT PORTION
OF SANTA FE AVENUE, SOUTH OF IMPERIAL HIGHWAY
AND THE PROPOSED FRONTAGE ROAD, BETWEEN EAST
ALAMEDA STREET AND SANTA FE AVENUE, TO WESTECH
WAY
WHEREAS, Westech Gear Corporation of Lynwood has
requested the renaming of that portion of Santa Fe Avenue, south
of Imperial Highway and the frontage road, between East Alameda
Street and Santa Fe Avenue, to Westech Way; and
WHEREAS, Westech Gear Corporation believes that this
street name change will facilitate its clients and visitors in
locating the company; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the request, and has
determined that such street renaming will not cause problems with
a continuous street being named differently, and presents no
potential confusion to motorists; and
WHEREAS, on September 26, 1991, the Traffic and Parking
Commission reviewed the request and supported the street name
change.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, proclaim order and resolve as follows:
Section 1: That that portion of Santa Fe Avenue,
south of Imperial Highway and the frontage road, between East
Alameda Street and Santa Fe Avenue, be renamed Westech Way.
Section 2: This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17th day of
