A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR
STEEL POLES FOR THE STREET LIGHTING PROJECT
NO. 5 -5131, THROUGH INFORMAL BIDDING BY A
4/5 VOTE
WHEREAS, the City's Underground District No. 8 by
Southern California Edison Company requires that a new street
light system be installed on Bullis Road, from Platt Avenue to
Imperial Highway; and
WHEREAS, this project is included in the FY 1991 -92
Capital Improvement Project list; and
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison will complete the
electrical undergrounding by May, 1992; and
WHEREAS, on February 4, 1992, to expedite the project,
the City Council approved the purchase of seventeen marbelite
poles by informal bid process; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to install four
(4) steel poles, capable of supporting large banners, as part of
this project; and
WHEREAS, these poles are special order items and may
take up to two months for delivery; and
WHEREAS, the purchasing of these poles will cost
approximately $8,000 and can be done in an expeditious manner by
the City through informal bidding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood Municipal Code, Section
6 -3.13, allows for informal bid purchases by a 4/5 volt by the
City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . That the City Council approve the purchase
of street light poles for the project through an informal bid by
a 4/5 vote.
Section 2 . This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of
February , 1992.
