A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD MAKING APPLICATION TO THE LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION FOR A CHANGE OF
ORGANIZATION PURSUANT TO THE CORTESE /KNOX
LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT
LYNWOOD ANNEXATION TO SOUTHEASE MOSQUITO
ABATEMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood desires
to initiate proceedingsfor annexation of said territory to the Southeast
Mosquito Abatement District, pursuant to the Cortese/Knox Local Government
Reorganization Act of 1985 (Division 3, contnencing with Section 5600, of the
California Government Code).
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby Find, Determine, Order and Resolve as follows:
Section 1 . Application is hereby made to the Local
Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles County for the Annexation of
certain territory in the City of Lynwood to the Southeast Mosquito Abatement
District,ppursuant to the Cortese /Knox Local Government Reorganization
Act of 1985.
' Section 2 . The territory proposed to be annexed is inha=
bited, and a description of said territory is set forth in Exhibit ''A''
attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof.
Section 3 . The reason for this proposal is that there
is a need for more uniform and complete coverage of mosquito control
in the County of Los Angeles.
Section 4 . This proposal is consistent with the sphere of
influence adopted by the Local Agency Formation Commission for the
Southeast Mosquito Abatement District.
Section 5 . The proposed annexation is subject to no
specific tenns or conditions.
Section 6 . The City Council of the City of Lynwood requests
that proceedings be taken for the change of organization hereinabove
described.
Section 7 . The City Clerk is directed to file a certified
copy of this resolution with the Local Agency Formation Commission.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4th day of
August 1987.
