A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL
ADOPT THE ATTACHED RESOLUTION APPROVING THE
CONSULTANT SELECTION AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT UPON SUCCESSFUL FEE
NEGOTIATION
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposal were sent out to
consultant engineers and advertised in the Los Angeles Times and
Lynwood Press; and
WHEREAS, nine proposals were received from consultant
engineers; and
WHEREAS, the proposals were reviewed and the four most
qualified consultants were invited to an oral interview; and
order:
WHEREAS, the consultants were ranked in the following
1. KaWES and Associates $487,240
2. Harris and Associates $309,000
3. ASL Consulting Engineers $237,100
4. Willdan Associates $439,352
WHEREAS, an independent and documentated estimate will be
prepared for price negotiation with the consultants.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1 . The City Council approve the selection
of KaWES and Associates to provide consulting engineering
services for the Long Beach Reconstruction Project.
Section 2 . That staff proceed with price negotiation
with KaWES and Associates and if not successful in negotiating a
reasonable fee, proceed with price negotiation with the second
ranked consultant.
Section 3 . That the Mayor be authorized to execute a
consultant agreement upon successful negotiation.
Section 4 . This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15th day of
September , 1987.
