AGENDA
April 13, 2004 – Legion Hall – 6:30 PM
ROLL CALL AND CALL TO ORDER
Dave Faurot, Ron Rooth, Kevin Briem, John Rygh and Scotty Davenport were present. Pat Hill and Mike Lenzi were absent.
II. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST
No guest were present
III. NEW BUSINESS
Motion by Ron Rooth to approve minutes – Minutes approved
PARKS
a.) Brownsfield Site Assessment Plan
Informed the Committee that I met with the Forest Service and they needed a Site Plan, a proposal and a survey of the area. Ron Rooth suggested that other committee members help get
the document completed because of it importance.
Jon Rygh will talk to Cathy Nash about the survey of the areas.
Brock Heasley will get the Site Plan.
We will all work on the proposal.
b.) Season Clean up
Informed the Committee that the Maintenance Plan is complete and we will begin using it this summer. Ron Rooth asked about the tree trimming at Rotary Park. Informed him that we have
the go ahead and just need to get out there and get it done. Ron informed us that he would like to take on the task of getting it completed. He will talk to the Fire Dept and others
to find a way to get it completed.
Hiring Summer Seasonals
Informed the committee that the summer seasonal hiring has begun and we are trying to get them on before May 1st.
d.) Equipment Purchasing
We are buying our new equipment for this year. The last purchase we have is a rotary lawn mover but due to it’s high price we are looking at leasing the product.
e.) Budget
The budget season has begun. We would like to have the draft budget done by the middle of May to present to the Committee for questions and concerns before we present any information
to Council for the Final draft.
f.) Four Corners Project
Informed the Committee that the four corners project is being maintained by the Parks and we are going to need some additional money to maintain that area for next year’s budget.
g.) Sheep Bridge
Informed the Committee that Planning and Zoning has been asked by the owner of Hunt’s Lodge is we would like to take ownership of the “Sheep bridge” located at Riverfront Park. Ron
Rooth made the motion “The Committee would be in favor of seeing the sheep bridge being acquired by the City under the following stipulations:
1.)The current owner brings it up to meet any relevant code.
2.)at which time the City would pay for any ongoing maintenance.
3.)The landowner will allow public access to public roads on either side.
4.)Non motor use.
Second by Scotty Davenport, and all were in favor.
RECREATION
Construction of Office Space
The office is almost complete and we are ready to move in as soon as completed.
b.) Hiring of new position
The new Recreation Coordinator will begin work May 17th.
c.) Youth Softball/Baseball
Registration has began. We have about as many sign ups as last year. Games will begin May 24th. Two weeks earlier than last year.
d.) Swimming Lessons
Swimming Lessons are completed. We had a full class of 40 participants. We will begin a new class in July and expect as many to turn out.
e.) Hiking Trips
Hiking trips will begin June 8th.
f.) Blastball/Tball
g.) Adult Softball League
Adult Softball will begin in early July. Scotty Davenport talked about wanting to see more ASA Tournaments and to put it on the Agenda for next month to discuss further options. He
would also like to have an email put out the advisory committee so they can add new items to
the Agenda and to also send them flyers for programs when they go out to the public to help them inform Community members when they ask questions.
