HomeMy Public PortalAboutjan PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES January 14th, 2009 – Legion Hall, McCall, Idaho 83638 – 6:00 PM I. CALL TO ORDER Shorty Clarke called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members present were Brigit Wiking, Nathan Stewart, Jenny Ruemmele and Shawn Treasure. Carl Barrett was absent. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Jenny Ruemmele made the motion to approve the minutes. Brigit Wiking seconds the motion and all approved. III. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST No guest were present IV. OLD BUSINESS RECREATION a.) None PARKS a.) None V. NEW BUSINESS RECREATION a.) Recreation Programs Nathan Stewart asked to check up on the status of the school districts online calendar for facility use. b.) Online payment Staff informed the committee that the department has began reviewing ways to begin online registration and payment. Staff must work closely with the finance department to ensure because they too are looking at online payment for water and sewer. c.) LOT request The Advisory Committee recommended the pathway along Dienhard for an LOT request this year. They asked for staff to look into paperwork from the Department of Lands for the easements along their property. PARKS a.) Golf Course Pathways The Advisory Committee asked for avenues to have the pathways at the golf course cleared this winter. Staff recommended advising members of the public that contact members of the committee to write letter in support of the pathways or stop by city hall. Other avenues that might help can be talking to the city manager and reviewing the budget for fiscal year 2010 for funding. b.) Holiday Lights Staff informed the committee about potentially taking over holiday lights in the future and what that cost might in tale. Additionally staff informed the committee that this would go in front of City Council sometime in the future. VI.
