A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH JAMES M. MONTGOMERY CONSULTING
ENGINEERS, INC. TO CONDUCT AN ENGINEERING STUDY
FOR WELL NO. 20

WHEREAS, the water of Well No. 20 contains levels of iron
and manganese above the maximum contaminated levels as established
by the California Department of Health Services; and
WHEREAS, the water of Well No. 20 may not be pumped into
the domestic water mains until the iron and manganese levels are
eliminated; and
WHEREAS, Well No. 20 experiences a drawdown that makes it
expensive and inefficient to operate; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the Mayor to
execute an agreement with James M. Montgomery Consulting Engineers,
Inc. to perform an engineering study for Well No. 20.
Section 2. That should the proposed study prove
economically sound, the City Council will authorize the Director of
Public Works /City Engineer to negotiate with James M. Montgomery
Consulting Engineers, Inc. for the purpose of designing a water
treament facility for the removal of iron and manganese, and to
design and implement methods for improving well efficiency.
Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
