HomeMy Public PortalAboutmar PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 11th, 2009 – Legion Hall, McCall, Idaho 83638 – 6:00 PM I. CALL TO ORDER Jenny Ruemmele called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members present were Brigit Wiking, Nathan Stewart, Jenny Ruemmele, Carl Barrett and Shawn Treasure. Shorty Clarke was absent. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Jenny Ruemmele made the motion to approve the minutes. Nathan Stewart seconded the motion with some additions to the minutes. All approved. III. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST No guests IV. OLD BUSINESS RECREATION a.) Online payment Finance department has 3 or 4 vendors and must decide which vendor to use, but things look good for this summer. Jenny and Brigit asked if it would help to have some of the Advisory members talk to finance to see if it would help move things along. All agreed. b.) Adult dutch over cooking We will run another dutch oven cooking class this fall before hunting season. The class in March went very well and was fully attended. PARKS a.) Brown Park Restroom Staff is under way to refurbishing brown parks restroom and it should be completed by May. b.) 319 grant application for WQ restoration plan at Riverfront Park Application is due in the middle of may, carol is researching what is needed in the application. The intent is to provide some shoreline rehab where the Sheep Bridge was placed. The intent is to prevent sediment from washing away into the Payette River. c.) Art Roberts Easement Explained that we have an opportunity to acquire lake frontage easement from Mr. Fereday if we would allow him access through Art Roberts Park for power to his building. Nathan asked to be part of the discussions this spring with Mr. Fereday. V. NEW BUSINESS RECREATION a.) Adult Volleyball th Adult volleyball starts March 15. Hoping to have a lot of attendance for open gym volleyball. b.) Youth/Adult Soccer Adult soccer has been canceled for this fall. We will be starting youth soccer potentially in early August as soon as tball is over and before youth flag football. c.) Field House The field house meetings are going as planned. Nothing new to report. PARKS a.) Deinhard pathway We will be starting the Deinhard pathway survey work as soon as the snow melts. b.) Wash off station c.) LWCF Grant th Presenting in Boise on March 15 with carol. Asking for $75,000 for the forest service property next to riverfront park. VI. SET NEXT MEETING AND AGENDA th April 15, 2009 at 6 p.m. located at the Recreation Department The City of McCall’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meetings are held open to the public and handicapped accessible.
