HomeMy Public PortalAbout2009.05.12 PRAC Minutes PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 12, 2009 – Legion Hall, McCall, Idaho 83638 – 6:00 PM I. CALL TO ORDER Shorty Clarke called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members present were Brigid Wiking, Nathan Stewart, Jenny Ruemmele, Carl Barrett, Shorty Clarke and Shawn Treasure. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Shorty Clarke made the motion to approve the minutes. Shawn Treasure seconded the motion. All approved. III. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST Mike Kramer Jason Lowe IV. OLD BUSINESS a.) Brown Park Restroom Both restrooms have been completed. We hope to complete the outside of the building this summer. b.) Art Roberts Easement Working closely with Idaho Power and Mr. Faraday and work is completed. Need City Attorney to complete the easement paper work. V. NEW BUSINESS RECREATION a.) Concession Agreement Girls Softball Traveling League Jason Lowe presented a concession at Fairway Park to raise funds for the traveling softball league. Carl Barrett made the motion to recommend the MBSA/Mountain Madness Softball to sell concessions at Fairway Park from 5pm to 9pm on June 1, 2009 to September 1, 2009. Jenny Ruemmele seconded the motion and all approved. b.) District Athletic Director Mike Kramer was introduced and he informed the committee that the district is more than willing to work with the recreation department for programming. He informed the committee the in winters months it is usually easy to have space available and there should be more space in the summer months thanks to the additional gym and field space. He additionally informed the committee that the online calendar should be up in two weeks. c.) Grants The Sampson Trail pathway and the Woodlands pathway were both approved this month and completion of these pathways should be done by August. D.) Deinhard pathway survey The Deinhard pathway has been completed and we will be turning in an Local Option Tax application shortly asking for funding. VI. SET NEXT MEETING AND AGENDA Next meeting June 17, 2009, 6pm at Legion Hall
