A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND STAFFING OF AN AD -HOC RACE
RELATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood is
desirous of addressing the increasing raciaL tensions and
conflicts within the community and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood feels
that the formation of a special Ad Hoc Race Relations
Advisory Committee can best be utilized in addressing the
causes of these increased racial tensions along with
identifying possible programs to mitigate these tensions;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that City Council of the
City of Lynwood hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby create and establish an Ad Hoc Race Relations
Advisory Committee
Section 2. That said committee will be comprised of
five (5) members - one to be appointed by each Council
member
Section 3. That the City Manager's Office staff
will coordinate the efforts of the Committee towards
identifying specific goals and objectives along with a
budget and special program recommendations to reduce racial
tensions within the City of Lynwood.
Section 4. This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
' PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of
August 1989.
