HomeMy Public PortalAbout2017-27 Awarding and approving a contract for Emergency Disaster Debris Removal and Response Services to AshBritt and Bergeron ERESOLUTION NO. 2017-27 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AWARDING AND APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY DISASTER DEBRIS REMOVAL AND RESPONSE SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION; PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on May 12, 2017, the Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") issued a Request for Proposals ("RFP No. 2017 -05 -12 -DR") for Emergency Disaster Debris Removal and Emergency Response Services to select the primary contractor as AshBritt and the secondary contractor Bergeron Emergency Services for the removal and disposal of storm -generated debris within the Village ("Project"); and WHEREAS, in response to the Request for Proposals, the Village received proposals; and WHEREAS, after careful review and consideration of the proposals, the Village Manager recommends the awarding of the contract for the Project to AshBritt Environmental and Bergeron Emergency Services ("Contractors") as the responsible, responsive bidder, based on unit prices for basic services provided in Exhibits"A" and "B"; and WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the residents of the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above -stated recitals are hereby adopted, confirmed, and incorporated herein. Section 2. Award of Contract for Emergency Disaster Debris Removal and Emergency Response Services. That the award of the contract for the Project to Contractors pursuant to the Request for Proposals is approved. Section 3. Authorization. The Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to execute a contract consistent with the Contractor's Proposal attached hereto as Exhibits "A" and "B" and execute any related or necessary documentation on behalf of the Village, subject to approval by the Village Attorney as to form, content, and legal sufficiency. Section 4. Implementation. The Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to take any and all action which is reasonably necessary to implement the purpose of this Resolution. Section 5.
