BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE BORO~ OF C~ AS
FOLLOWS:
ORDINANCE ~qB4-6 I~ITI.FJ~ "An Ordinance Establishing a User Charge
System in the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New
Jersey to Provide Funds Needed to Pay for All Expenses Associated with the
Borough's Sewerage System" as amended by Ordinances #85-50, #90-43 and
#95-2 is hereby amended as follows:
ARTICLE II~ Section 207-19-8 shall be amended as follows:

Section 207-19-B. Churches, fraternal organizations, service
organizations, public buildings, schools and light industrial and
commercial establishments e.g. grocery stores, taverns, car washes, etc.
shall pay a mmzmum of Five Hundred Twenty Dollars ($520.00) for
seventy-five thousand (75,000) gallons of water (wastewater) per year, and
one hundred eighty (180) pounds of BOD, one hundred eighty (180) pounds of
suspended solids and seven-tenths (0.7) pounds of chlorine demand.
For the amount in excess of these flows and strengths, user catagories on
the basis of the samples analyzed are as follows:
.Catagory 1. Medical, retail stores and light manufacturing will be
charged a minimum of Five Hundred Twenty Dollars '
($520.00) for the first seventy-five thousand (75,000)
gallons of water (wastewater) per year. Thereafter, Six
Dollars and Twenty Cents ($6.20) per one thousand
(1,000) gallons in excess of seventy-five thousand
(75,000) gallons of water (wastewater) per year.
Catagory 2. Churches, fraternal organizations, public buildings,
schools and offices will be charged a minimum of Five
Hundred Twenty Dollars ($520.00) for the first
seventy-five thousand (75,000) gallons of water
(wastewater) per year. Thereafter, Six Dollars and
Forty Cents ($6.40) per one thousand (1,000) gallons in
excess of seventy-five thousand (75,000) gallons of
water (wastewater) per year.
Catagory 3. Services and
supermarkets will be charged a minimum of
Five hundred Twenty Dollars ($520.00) for the first
seventy-five thousand (75,000) gallons of water
(wastewater) per year. Thereafter, Six Dollars and
_ Seventy-eight Cents ($6.78) per one thousand (1,000)
gallons in excess of seventy-five thousand (75,000)
gallons of water (wastewater) per year.

Catagory4. Food Services will be charged a minimum of Five Hundred
Twenty Dollars ($520.00) for the first seventy-five
thousand (75,000) gallons of water (wastewater) per
year. Thereafter, Seven Dollars and Thirty Cents
($7.30) per one thousand (1,000) gallons of water
(wastewater) per year.
ARTICLE IV~ Section 3 shall be amended as follows:
ARTICLE IV
Section 3. The residential contributor~ other than those from garden
apartments, project apartments, and trailers, shall pay an annual fixed
fee of $314.04, plus a water consumption rate of $0.02549 per cubic foot.
Each residential contributor unit shall have a minimum annual fee of
$398.00 and a maximum annual fee of $518.00. Residential contributors
from garden apartments, project apartments, and trailers shall pay a flat
rate of $292.29 for flow.
ARTICLE X~ Section 1. shall be amended to read as follows:

Section 1. Any ordinance or amendment thereto which conflicts or is not
consistent herewith is hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict or
inconsistency.
ARTICLE XI~ Section 1. shall be amended to read as follows:

Section 1. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and
publication as provided by law.
