A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD GRANTING THE CITY MANAGER AUTHORITY
TO GENERATE A PROPOSAL FOR AMENDMENT OF THE WORK
WEEK TO ALLOW FOR A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE AND PRESENT
THAT PROPOSAL TO COUNCIL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
WHEREAS, the designated representative of the City of
Lynwood has satisfied the meet and confer provisions of the
Myers - Milias -Brown Act; and
WHEREAS, all three recognized bargaining units in the
City of Lynwood support and encourage the allowance of
alternative work schedules; and
WHEREAS, by providing for alternative work schedules the
City of Lynwood would be working towards satisfying one of the
provisions of Rule 15 of the South Coast Air Quality
District; and
WHEREAS, the City believes that it is in its best
interest to allow for the provision of alternate work schedules;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to
generate a proposal for amendment of the work week to allow for
a flexible schedule and present that proposal to Council as
soon as possible.
Section 2. That the above provision only applies to City
' employees working a traditional 40 hour or less work week, it does
not apply to safety employees working a non - traditional work week as
described herein.
Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect immediately
upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this day 3rd day of
October 1989.
