RE: Public Art Advisory Committee
Dear Council Members:
I wish to be considered for committee membership on the City of McCall’s new
Public Art Advisory Committee.
As an active artist, I exhibit my work at Gallery Fifty‐Five in McCall, where I serve as
board president and help to manage revolving art displays at Idaho First Bank,
which showcases local artists. I am also a member of McCall Artist Connection, a
local art guild. I am keen to see the advancement of art awareness and opportunity
in the McCall area, to benefit our local artists, as well as the general economy,
community pride and quality of life.
As both volunteer and artist, I have participated in McCall Arts & Humanities events
such as Kaleidoscope and Art Celebration at Charlie’s Garden.
I participated in many of the public sessions lead by Karen Bubb, which preceded
the formation of this Committee.
Now in my fourth year of serving as chair for McCall’s Environmental Advisory
Committee, I have discovered that a group of committed people can have a
meaningful impact on the environmental decisions of the city, as well as the local
community.
I am a practicing architect, specializing in residential projects, with a particular
interest in appropriate scale, energy efficiency and balance within community.
I look forward to learning more about the public art process and connecting with
others who see value in the arts.
Respectfully,
Claire Remsberg

Ms. Delta James,
Public Art Management Team Leader

Dear Ms. James,
I am interested in serving on the Public Art Advisory Committee, and ask that you consider me
for one of the current open seats. I have been a resident of Valley County all of my life, and
have been closely involved in the music and art scenes in McCall since high school. I am
currently serving as VP of the Long Valley Preservation Society, and I spent many years as
member, president, and finally organizational memory of the MAHC. I have served on the
board of the McCall Music Society, and am currently the Artistic Director/Choir Director of the
Community Choir. I have been active in other volunteer organizations including the Alpine
Playhouse, and have taught art, history, and drama classes through the MAHC. I am also a
pysanky artist.
McCall is my home, and I would like to volunteer my time, skills, and talents to help make
future public art installments reflect the vision and personality of its residents. My experiences
fund raising, serving on juries, and working through early public art projects in this area have
given me a taste of what great things are possible in our community. I have attended and
followed with interest the informational meetings directed by Ms. Bubb, and I understand that
the PAAC will review recommendations, donations or sources of funding, and projects, then
forward ideas and thoughts to the McCall City Council.
I would be happy to provide my resume or answer any questions you may have, although to
save time I could add that I studied music performance for three years at the C of I then
received a Bachelor degree in Nursing Science from Idaho State University in 1983. My
resume would be a lot like this letter, only in a new format!
I respectfully request your support, and thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Barbara Nokes Kwader
