A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE SISTER CITIES
INTERNATIONAL (SCI) PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the Sister Cities International program is
designed to foster better international relationships and
meaningful exchanges with other cities in the world, and
WHEREAS, SCI acts as a catalyst to make this type of
program work efficiently and effectively, and
WHEREAS, SCI charges an annual membership fee based on
the participating cities current population, and
WHEREAS, the annual dues for the City of Lynwood would
be three hundred seventy five dollars ($375.00) and
WHEREAS, membership in the SCI program allows for
participation in annual conferences, various workshops, purchase
of publications, hospitality tours and ceremonies for visiting
groups, and provides coordination with other cities throughout the
world.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Lynwood does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Manager or his designee is
hereby authorized to make the following appropriations to cover the
cost of membership and other related activities in the Sister
Cities International Program:

Fund Balance
To:
01- 4001 -4251 $ 375.00
01- 4001 -4250 $7625.00
Section 2. That this Resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
