LYNWOOD APPROVING THE PROPOSED PROGRAM FOR THE
SIDEWALK REPAIRS AND AUTHORIZING THE NECESSARY
BUDGET AMENDMENT AND FUTURE M44ITMENT

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continue maintaining City
sidewalk, curb and gutter, etc., in a safe and proper condition; and
WHEREAS, there are approximately 1,800 locations where sidewalk
and /or curb and gutter are in need of repairs at an estimated cost of
$1,500,000; and
WHEREAS, the on -going sidewalk repair project, FY 89 -90 is budgeted
at $291,000 and will be completed in February 1990; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to repair as many .locations of
sidewalks as the City possibly can at this time; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that after completing the current Sidewalk
Project up to FY 89 -90 budget amount, a new sidewalk project be advertised as
soon as possible for an amount of $1.2 million.
NOw, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as follows:
Section 1 . The City Council hereby adopt the proposed program
for the Sidewalk Repair.
Section 2 . The City Council authorizes City Manager or his designee
to make the necessary budget amendme and future commitment:

Section 3 . This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
