A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO COVER EXPENDITURE
FOR RUBBISH SERVICE AT END OF FISCAL YEAR 1988 -89
' WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of maintaining
clean and safe sanitary conditions for its residents; and
WHEREAS, Western Waste Industries is the City's
exclusive hauler for residential rubbish pick -up; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to appropriate funds to
cover expenditure for residential rubbish service for year
ending June 30, 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby find,
order and proclaim as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager or his designee is
authorized to make the following transfers and appropriations:

SECTION 2. This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.

BUDGET
Rubbish Contract Services $976,000
EXPENDITURES
$1,058,098
Resolution #88 -146 granted Western Waste Industries a 7.7% rate
increase for residential service. However, budget for F. Y.
1988 -89 was not amended to cover rate increase. So as the
above figures indicate, expenditures(including current past
due amount) have exceeded the budget by 8 %.
Rubbish charges billed Lynwood residents
for June 1989 services $98,517.97
Franchise Fee /Administration Cost (16,419.66)
Amount Due Western Waste for
June Services $82,098.31
Total rubbish charges billed Lynwood residents for June 1989
services is $98,517.97. The City deducts its 10% franchise
fee as well as its 8% administration cost from total amount
billed for rubbish services. The balance is due Western
Waste Industries for June 1989 services.
