A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING ONE ASSOCIATE CIVIL ENGINEER/ PROJECT MANAGER
POSITION IN THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE TO MONITOR AND
COORDINATE CERTAIN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO COVER THE COST OF THIS POSITION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has
expressed concerns about not being kept informed relative to the
ongoing status of approved Capital Improvement Projects in the
City, and
WHEREAS, based on these concerns, the Council has
directed staff to implement a more effective process for monitoring
and coordinating certain approved Capital Improvement Projects, and
WHEREAS, in order to implement a monitoring and
coordinating program, the City manager is requesting that the City
Council approve the addition of one (1) Associate Civil
Engineer /Project Manager position in the Mayor and City Manager's
fiscal year 1989 -90 budget, and
WHEREAS, this full time position will work out of the
Mayor and City Manager's office and be responsible for monitoring
and coordinating certain Capital Improvement Projects, and
WHEREAS, funds will be appropriated from the general fund
unappropriated fund balance to cover this expense.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Lynwood does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood
approve and authorize the addition of one (1) full time Associate
Civil Engineer/ Project Manager position in the Mayor and City
Manager's office to serve as a project manager to monitor and
coordinate certain Capital Improvement Projects.
Section 2" That the City Council authorize the City
Manager or his designee to hire a Associate Civil Engineer /Project
Manager on an hourly basis who would function in this position
until the position is released for open competitive competition.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is
hereby authorized to make the following appropriations to cover the
cost of one (1) Associate Civil Engineer/ Project Manager in the
Mayor and City Manager's office:

Section 4 That this Resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
